SEC – Enka was awarded the Spirit of the Mountains Award for the 2017 United Way Campaign!
David Bailey (right), President and CEO of the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County, says “this company has a very long history with us and has remained supportive and generous with their gifts of time and dollars through their company changes and ours.
Shown here accepting the award are Jackie Rice, Payroll Administrator and Campaign Lead and Michelle Yanik, Vice President of Manufacturing Services.
They conduct a model workplace campaign, complete with employee meetings for all shifts; leadership ask, incentives for suggestive giving (and more), and food at all meetings. They make the time to educate their folks about our work!
This effort has resulted in campaigns with outstanding participation and an employee per capita above $300 and an average gift over $600.
Additionally they provide a generous corporate gift….it exceeds $200 per employee.
Total employee and corporate giving in 2017 surpassed their goal of $70,000 by $4,000.
They support corporate volunteerism through annual participation in the School Supply Drive and Days of Impact.
Their Days of Impact work is second to none; they demand and take on the most challenging projects each time and turn out employees from throughout their facility”.
