SEC in Enka, NC presented the local United Way with 40 fully-stocked backpacks for distribution to the area's elementary and middle school students! This year beat last year's contribution of 35 backpacks, made possible by our employees who donated to this worthy cause. Our Payroll Administrator Jackie Rice (pictured right) managed the contribution efforts and did an outstanding job to exceed our goal once again. Huge thanks to Jackie and all Enka Team Members who contributed to this effort. Jackie reminds us that, "... a caring adult is the number one way to impact a child’s life and we did that for more than 40 of them in a matter of a few weeks!"

SEC Plant Manager Eric Schober says, "We had a team of 9 volunteers take part in this annual event on Friday July 20th. This year we were paired up with an organization called Girls on the Run, who offers after school programs for 3rd-8th grade girls whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. Our group helped assemble tool kits for the volunteers who lead the weekly activities at schools throughout Cleveland and Bradley County.
