James “Marty” Martin

Career:

James “Marty” Martin began his career as a Training Specialist with Fluor Daniel Engineering. Marty brought his expertise to Southeastern Container in 1994 as the Safety & Training Manager and later, the Team Development Manager. Marty earned the promotion to General Manager in what was then our new blow molding production facility in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he served for 13 years. He moved back to NC in 2013 to manage the preform production facility in Enka, North Carolina. In 2020, Marty assumed the role of Director of Engineering & New Business Development and in early 2023 was promoted to Vice President of Engineering and Product Development. In 2024, Marty became SEC’s Senior Vice President of Operations.

Education:

Marty earned his BS in Industrial Education/Human Resources from Clemson University. Marty also holds a Six Sigma Green Belt and he successfully completed The Strategic Leader Program through the Blankenship & Seay Consulting Group.

Personal:

Marty is a husband and father of two boys and spent several years as a FIFA and high school soccer referee. Marty enjoys the abundant hiking and fishing opportunities in the Blue Ridge Mountains and spending time with his family.
